Does Airbnb Collect Taxes for Me?
Yes — Airbnb automatically collects and remits both the Florida state sales tax (6%) and the Bay County tourist development tax (5%) on your behalf for bookings made through their platform. You do not need to collect or remit these taxes manually for Airbnb bookings.
However, if you accept bookings through VRBO, direct booking websites, or other channels, you are responsible for collecting and remitting taxes yourself.
